My husband and I attended Nurse Jackie’s all-inclusive 5 hour class when I was 33-weeks pregnant and are so thrilled we chose it with her! She was so knowledgeable, funny and ‘real’ with her lessons and advice. I loved that we met in a small room with only 2 other couples and get this: we all shared the same due date?!! There was a lunch break around 12:30pm but I didn’t enjoy eating in the same room with no chairs or tables. At the very end, she takes many pictures of you and prints out a certificate as a keepsake. Also, she gave us a very handy cooler bag with tons of formula, pens, etc. Nice perk! Either way, we learned so much, had fun and would recommend her to anyone!
I was giving up as my son’s heartbeat was dropping. Her words of encouragement and firmness made me fight for my son’s healthy delivery. I will never forget how she held the oxygen ask on my face telling me to breathe. I remember looking at Nurse Jackie and thinking leave me alone as I fought her in removing my oxygen. Even though my behavior was erratic, Nurse Jackie never gave up on me. This is when she gave me a reality check. Her professional firmness with me gave me the strength and courage to deliver my son. I speak to my son about nurse Jackie all the time.
I would highly recommend Nurse Jackie to be your delivery nurse. You surely will be blessed having her with you as you enter this beautiful journey of motherhood.

Eighteen years ago I became the proud aunt of my first nephew Manuel. AKA Anthony. This was an exciting milestone in my life. I was there to experience a new member of our family being born. It was a joyful but yet scary moment for me but especially for my younger sister Irma who was the one enduring the labor pains as I watched feeling hopeless, excited and scared. But all my feelings of fear were taken away when Ms. Jackie Chapman walked into the delivery room with confidence and introduced herself as the delivery nurse caring for my sister Irma.
Nurse Jackie’s nursing knowledge, strong character, comforting words, compassionate demeanor and her sense of humor made my sister’s labor process an experience we shall never forget. My sister had given up on pushing due to exhaustion, despite everything the doctor would tell her. Needless to say her decision to give up started affecting my nephew in her womb. Nurse Jackie never gave up on my sister and kept it very real with her. Nurse Jackie was firm and assertive when it was needed. She provided my sister with a reality check of what would happen if she didn’t do as told to give birth. She stood right by my sister’s bedside and provided her with the support she needed to successfully give birth to my healthy nephew. Nurse Jackie’s nursing duties made the birth of my nephew a success without having a C- section.
Nurse Jackie is an outstanding L&D nurse. She made my sister laugh, and also gave her the strength and courage to successfully deliver my nephew. She went above and beyond her duties in the delivery room and after delivery. Her professionalism, funny and caring demeanor will forever be embedded in our memories. Up to this day we tell Anthony how Nurse Jackie was an extraordinary nurse which helped bring him into this world.
I highly recommend Nurse Jackie to be your delivery nurse. If you want someone who will make you laugh, very straightforward, give you support and encouragement during this exciting milestone in your life without all the fancy medical terminology then you need to choose Nurse Jackie. She keeps it real! You will not regret having her at your side to start this beautiful journey of motherhood.

Nurse Jackie did everything within her power to arrange a gift certificate for the birthing class (at a posted rate on a website) as a baby shower gift for my daughter and her husband. As I live outside the state, and as I originally wanted it to be a surprise, it was critical to receive the certificate before I left for the shower, so she mailed it certified mail. Now everything is “whopper-jawed” with the coronavirus pandemic, but at least I know Nurse Jackie will go the extra distance to ensure my daughter and her husband will have a good birthing experience. Thank you, Nurse Jackie!
My husband and I took Nurse Jackie’s 5 hour Birthing Class and it was the greatest experience. Aside from learning a ton because Nurse Jackie knows her stuff, we laughed our butts off because she is HILARIOUS. I stumbled upon the Birthing Center of NY while trying to find a more affordable birthing class option and am so glad I found Nurse Jackie. She helped prepare us for labor in the most memorable ways possible and we will never forget her!
As soon as my partner and I told Nurse Jackie I want to deliver our baby at the birthing center, she went to bat for us. She spent countless hours on the phone battling with our health insurance company, and finally got the birthing center approved as an in-network facility. I never imagined I could feel so supported by someone I just met.
We also took Nurse Jackie’s 5-hour Birthing Course and found her pedagogy to be right on. She has so much knowledge she’s willing to share. I’m really looking forward to the experience of delivering with Nurse Jackie and Dr. Eng at the birthing center!

Like you, I searched for an affordable birthing class that would cover everything I needed to know about pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care from A to Z. The Birthing Center’s 5-hour class was surprisingly really fun and exactly what I needed as a first-time mom. I felt such peace the moment I walked through their doors.
If you’re hesitant about signing up because of the distance, just know that the subway is a 5-minute walk from the front door and the classes are purposely kept to a smaller size – you won’t find hands-on teaching like this in any of the larger hospital classes, trust me!
From the moment the class starts, Nurse Jackie is teaching techniques, breathing positions, how to time contractions, and hospital vocabulary so you know how to advocate for yourself on the big day. Best of all, she’ll continue to work with you through your pregnancy and she’s also a lactation consultant. (Most hospitals will send one to your room, but you may need an additional follow-up). She’s also fantastic with nervous husbands.
I cannot thank her enough for answering my phone call when I was unexpectedly induced for labor and guiding me through what to expect, especially since I didn’t have a doula. She is truly special and I will recommend her to everyone I know!

Nurse Jackie is amazing and has a true gift in teaching and helping others. She has soo much knowledge and expertise in baby care and child birth that it was soo wonderful! She also has an amazing sense of humor and made the class funny and entertaining. I was soo nervous going into the class as a first time mom, not knowing anything about babies, and now i feel soo well prepared. I highly recommend this class for first time parents. Good crash course, and the one-day format will definitely be appreciated by anyone with older kids or a busy schedule. Nurse Jackie is obviously passionate about the subject matter and has a wealth of experience to draw on. I particularly liked the refresher on newborn care–bathing, swaddling, establishing the first few days of breastfeeding. Even if you’ve done it before, you forget so quickly!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Nurse Jackie’s birthing class. It was fun, informative, and hands on. We are so glad to have taken the class – we feel better prepared as we’ll be welcoming our first bundle of joy within the coming weeks. Nurse Jackie was extremely knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend her classes to new parents to be!
